The new single from B-ahwe explores themes of rumination, learning, and growth. Produced by TAMBALA, ‘Circles’ offers the delicate melodies and richly textured delivery characteristic of the artist. Side-stepping away from some of the jazz and prog moments on her last Nuance EP, ‘Circles’ leans more towards R&B and hip-hop, in a similar mould to her previous collaborations with the likes of Lausse the Cat and Nix Northwest.
About the track, B-ahwe explains:
“I used themes of time and the changing of seasons to address issues surrounding mental health… The isolation we’ve been through during the pandemic has provided a bit too much time for introspection; I hope this song reaches people to let them know that they’ve not been alone in that.”
The ‘Circles’ release comes in tandem with an announcement of B-ahwe’s next EP, Motions, which is due to drop in September.
